Sometimes the biggest ideas begin with the smallest moments.

For me, it all started with a one-cent sale.

Several years ago, I came across an unbelievable clearance sale at JCPenney where children’s T-shirts were just one penny each. I bought nearly thirty shirts in a variety of sizes for my niece, Niyah, who lived in Washington while I was in Oklahoma. I wanted to make sure she had shirts she could grow into over the next few years.

I had always loved creating personalized shirts for her. Every birthday, holiday, and even the 100th day of school was another excuse to put together a care package with something made just for her. It was one of my favorite ways to stay connected across the miles.

When she came to visit Oklahoma, I called her inside to try on the shirts so I could figure out which sizes fit now and which ones I should save for future care packages.

Needless to say, she’d much rather have been outside playing with Matthew.

After trying on a handful of shirts, she finally looked at me and said,

“I don’t want these shirts.”

Completely confused, I asked her why.

Her answer was simple.

“Because they’re boring. They don’t have pictures on them.”

I couldn’t help but laugh.

Then it hit me.

She wasn’t refusing the shirts…she was refusing the ordinary.

That moment planted a seed.

What if I could take something as simple as a plain T-shirt and turn it into something someone couldn’t wait to wear?

That question became the foundation of June Rain Creations.

Today, we create much more than apparel. From personalized school labels and custom gifts to tumblers, decals, and apparel, every product is designed with the same purpose—to take something ordinary and make it feel personal, meaningful, and uniquely yours.

The name June Rain Creations carries a story of its own.

June honors Betty June, whose love and influence continue to inspire me every day. Rain reminds me of peaceful childhood memories of listening to the rain and the feeling of hope and fresh beginnings that always seemed to come after a storm. Together, they represent the heart behind everything I create.

If you’ve ever noticed the little lightning bug in our logo, that’s intentional.

It reminds me that even the smallest light can brighten the darkness. It’s a symbol of hope, resilience, and the reminder that our light can continue to shine, even after life’s storms. I hope every package that leaves my studio carries a little bit of that light with it.
